CA Pratik Bajoria
Chartered Accountant, Kolkata.
I’m a Chartered Accountant based in Kolkata, with over nine years of post-qualification experience across audit, financial analysis, taxation and business process transformation. Part of that time was spent at a Big 4 firm. The rest has been in industry roles and, more recently, building my own ventures.
Audit work is where I learnt how finance processes behave when a deadline is close and the numbers have to tie. I saw why a step that looks wasteful on paper is often there for a reason, usually a control someone needed after something went wrong. That shapes how I look at AI now. Before I suggest automating a workflow, I want to know which control it carries and who signs off on the output.
What I do now
Most of my work is advising companies on AI implementation. That usually starts with an AI opportunity audit: I map the workflows, score the use cases against P&L impact and control risk, and pick one narrow release to build first. I’ve worked with businesses across eight sectors.
I also build Findost, an AI-powered wealth management platform. It’s where I test the patterns I recommend to clients, so when I tell a finance team that something works in production, I’ve usually had to make it work myself first.
Alongside that I make a small number of cross-border introductions between Indian businesses and overseas buyers or partners. I vet both sides as I would a counterparty, and I’m paid only if a deal closes.
What I write about
The blog is organised into four topics. Each has a hub page that links to every post in it.
- AI for Chartered Accountants in India: how CA practices can use AI on audit, GST and client work without losing control of the file.
- AI implementation for finance teams: close, reconciliation, MIS and the controls that have to sit around them.
- AI automation in India: workflow automation for Indian businesses, from WhatsApp intake to document handling.
- AI tools and accounting software: reviews and comparisons, judged against the workflow they are meant to improve.
I write every post under my own name, and where a figure appears it links to its source. The content is educational. It isn’t legal, tax, audit or investment advice for your situation.
